OVERVIEW
(English) The Community Opinion Leaders (COL) project seeks to design pathways to nurture gaai fong as future impact community professionals who will lead bottom-up efforts to cultivate a spirit of sharing and strengthen neighbourhood bonds through community programmes curated by gaai fong for gaai fong by gaai fong.
SVHK’s ROLE
(English) The COL Academy, curated by SVhk in partnership with expert collaborators and funded by the Community Chest of Hong Kong, plays a vital role in COMM,ON's mission by designing pathways for community members (“gaai fongs”) to become Community Opinion Leaders (COLs). These gaai fong individuals are empowered to become a driving force in shaping a caring and well community.
HIGHLIGHTS / PARTNERSHIPS
(English) The Academy offers training programs and educational opportunities in collaboration with its expert partners. These programs are designed to equip community members with new knowledge, skills, and perspectives in four key areas: Live, Work, Well, and Grow.
The COL Academy has organised 6 cohorts since June 2022, equipping gaai fongs with distinctive skill sets that enable them to strengthen connectivity in the community in the following areas:

- Elderly Game Designer
- Sewroom Talents
